3-26-wholehouselogo3.jpgWe've been to a few of the SF and East Bay salvage yards mentioned in our recent Top Ten: Sources for Architectural Salvage, but somehow Whole House Building Supply & Salvage had fallen off our radar until recently.

3-26-wholehouse.jpgIf you've ever driven around the Peninsula, you may have noticed Whole House Building Supply & Salvage's bright yellow House Demolition Sale signs. The company conducts salvage sales at homes that are slated for demolition -- and we've heard tales of people going to them, hammers and pliers in hand, and leaving with amazing finds.

Whole House Building Supply & Salvage also has a warehouse and salvage yard just off the freeway (and, ironically, a short drive from IKEA) in East Palo Alto.

They sell items salvaged from area homes, as well as those that have been donated by homeowners and businesses (they work with East Palo Alto non-profits so that all donations are tax-deductible).

Stock includes doors, windows, bricks, roof tiles, plumbing fixtures, mirrors, cabinetry, cabinet and door hardware, granite and marble, ironwork, decking, crown molding, hardwood floors, and finished and unfinished wood and lumber products.
