Yesterday, there was a discussion in the comments of Annie & Manuel's Rustic Den in Hamburg, Germany about how great architecture makes a great space. This idea is validated by these awe-inducing windows from a home in Belgium that was once a 19th Century Flemish Chapel...
The second image is a great example of how to hang curtains with a uniquely-shaped window — a straight rod hung directly under the ceiling, with floor-length curtains. Wow!

Gorgeous- although I will never understand the note mobile thing that is so popular now.
Now I want Gothic windows...
What a lovely room!
Gothic is my favourite architecture. This chapel is so lovely, so livable. Imagine having all that light, such luxury. Curtains, colours--perfect.
Wow!
I love it!!!!! :O
Beautiful Gothic Lancet windows.
A while back there was a season of This Old House where the family redid a church to live in, and it had great windows too. Its been the one house i've been the most envious of.
spectacular.

Swoon! This space is stunning! Any leads on the photo in the kitchen?
i want to go to there.
Mein Gott, those windows! I love that they kept the rest of the space so clean that the architecture really gets a chance to shine.
can we find out the artist who painted the portrait?
Want.
Oh, this is so beautiful!
That's beautiful!
I especially love the link between the background color in the painting and the fireplace wall. AND the windows, of course!
You know when good design makes you happy? Well this post about good design just made me jealous...
