How would you react if you walked into your hotel room and it looked like this? This avant-garde hotel, the Au Vieux Panier in Marseille, France, commissioned artists to redesign and create unique environments and experiences in each of their five rooms.

In this particular room, artist Tilt (warning: nsfw) has created "Panic Room," a half-white/half-graffiti setup for the daring traveler. Think you're brave enough? Head on over to the Au Vieux Panier hotel to book your stay. Which side of the bed will you be sleeping on? See more about this unique room and find a link to the artist's story at My Modern Met.

White Enamel Flatwa...
I would have a seizure.
It looks cool, and is a cool concept. But it would look nice if it was better graffiti. There should be more white in the graffiti and it should be "cleaner".
I'd book it just so I could flip the comforter around (white side to graffiti side) . ;P
Really though, I don't see myself staying in something like this for another other than a purely spur of the moment, do whatever I want whilst trekking through Europe kind of trip.
Lord. It's like when I shared a room with my sister and her half was princess themed and my half was jungle, complete with palm trees and dare I even try to remember... a yawning tiger with a mirror in it's mouth. Shudder.
NO. Either one or the other. I do agree w/LITTLEMISSSUNSHINE. If there was more white in the graffiti, it may not be so bad.
I have O.C.D. (diagnosed by a professional) and this would drive me CRAZY!
graffiti = crime
Sure, I'd stay there. It's only a hotel room, after all, and an once-in-a-great-while opportunity. I suspect, though, that I couldn't afford to stay here.
P.S.: I stayed in the Northern Lights room at the Don Q Inn in Dodgeville, WI, for 2 or 3 days, and some may find it comparable to the above. For a pix of this lovely suite, go here: http://www.donqinn.net/images/northern_lights.jpg
I agree with LittleMissSunshine . . . this is not attractive graffiti at all. It just looks like tagging. If it was artistic and beautiful in some way, I might check it out.
Does house cleaning ever wash the sheet?
I, too, agree with littlemisssunshine. Had it been better graffiti, and a bit more toned down and modern, I could handle it, but I really do think my eyes would strain too much and I'd end up shutting the lights off so I wouldn't be so dizzy.
I don't think "more white" or "clean" is the point of graffiti... At least not when I see it around my city. I imagine this is supposed to look "authentic."
I think I would have nightmares in that room, if I were even able to fall asleep.
How would I react? Turn around and walk out.
I like it
The idea is cool, and I don't think the graffiti side needs more white, as the whole point is that one side is completely empty, and the other side is completely covered. I do wish the two words I can make out weren't "Yo!" and "Graffiti." That's a little... lame.
I like it.
"just looking like tagging" is the point! I wouldn't want to live that room long-term, but for a few nights, that would be awesome (gnarly. Tubular, even. Though I appreciate some of you think it's grody to the max.)
I guess the maids have to go through special training on how to line up that comforter so it ends up perfectly straight.
mon dieu! hell no!
Hmm, interesting concept, but not sure it works for me. I think it would give me a headache (for real!) but it would be interesting to see in person, regardless.
Every day is repost day.
"How would I react?"
I'd make them switch my room so fast their heads would spin.
Major "blech"!
My instant reaction was NO. I would feel claustrophobic. There's so much going on I almost feel sick and I'm not even there!
I like what sabrinathedestroyer said about how the words she can make out are "yo" and "graffiti" - agreed, totally lame. I've seen some amazing graffiti around Vancouver, and I think it would be so much better if it wasn't ALL tagging.
I like it! Better than all the beige, cream and olive colour schemes of the hotels I seem to stay in. What fun!
Cleaner, more white graffiti. You're funny Littlemisssunshine.
I have been looking for a graffiti artist, but this has no heart! Great graffiti straight from the heart is aweswome......I would love graffiti art in my upstairs hallway.
I really dig it. It would be a lot of fun to see that walking into a hotel room. But I'm a bit nutty so... My house is super minimal and design-y so to stay in something completely different would be great. I rather stay here than have flowered bedding and shantung curtains. though I think the graffiti could've been a little better I guess.
