Yes, this blue, frothy concoction is actually punch, baby shower punch to be exact. But we could also see this fitting in nicely with a spring or summer party as well, and we're pretty sure the kids would be fascinated. So, what makes it blue?
Good old blue Kool Aid of course. Sherbert and ginger ale make the "bubbles." While this certainly isn't something to drink everyday, it's great for a celebration.

I think that is hilarious as a centerpiece but I don't want to drink anything that has pvc floating in it.
This is hilarious, adorable, and gross all at the same time.
Unlike previous comment, the ducks don’t bother me. It’s the blue foam.
The ad on my page after the jump was for laundry detergent and for a second I gagged thinking that was the secret ingredient.
I'm sure there are PVC free ways to put ducks in there - maybe substitute some (seasonally appropriate) yellow marshmallow peeps?
What adult wants to drink sugary blue koolaid and ginger ale? Baby shower.....mostly adults. Right? I am confused.
I am not comfortable with this punch.
Haha live a little people! I would gladly drink that blue punch... I wanna go make some right now.
I think it's cute. I used to have a good punch recipe that involved sherbet and 7up, and it was green and frothy. I'm sure there's a way to make it more adult-friendly. And there are plenty of PVC-free ducks. But it's pretty minimal exposure regardless. I guess I don't worry as much as I used to.
This seems icky for some reason and I cannot put my finger on it. Its not exactly yummy come on get me a cup of that! Its more like halloween I dare you to drink this.
I would drink it if I were thier guest, she went to a lot of trouble and it's cute and creative. However, even if it is the best punch ever made, it just grosses me out.
Oh and to the people grossed out by the PVC, are you serious? Tell me you have managed to keep your children from occassionally getting bath water in thier mouths, or even getting a couple gulps in while thier playing, before you're able to stop them? Lighten up.
I think it is a super cute idea but PVC is highly toxic so I wouldn't be inclined to drink it. (And to sweethomesweet, our house is PVC-free so I don't have to sweat it if my daughters drink the bath water. Yes, I am serious.)
sweethomesweet: PVC is sometimes softened by lead. Lead in drinks is a non-starter for most families.

Same detergent ad on my feedreader. Same gagging feeling.
i think it is so adorable. i didn't think twice about PVC i was mostly thinking of how those ducks would need a hot water and antibacterial soap scrub before going into the punch, i'm not really that concerned with PVC i guess i know i should be but i have bigger things to worry about and i'm not sure this would be all that bad. i'm sure i have had something far worse at some point. i do love the idea it's so cute but i am not a big punch person in general i doubt i'd drink it.
This is cute! I'd drink it. I'm not a big fan of kool-aid, but maybe it would be better with the sherbert and ginger ale.
i have a similar recipe because it seems as if most of you do not like blue kool aid, a similar recipe would be using lime sherbet, limeade and 7up... my pregnancy has me SUPER INTO limes/lemons and because i'm having a boy and hate the color blue, I opted out of the blue punch. The green looks a little more swampy so i would suggest little frogs instead of ducks, or nothing at all. In the past I have also made this recipe with fruit punch and it came out pink for a different baby shower. There were a lot of young teens and children at the baby shower so the majority of them drank the punch and the older people drank whatever else was being served, but trust that it is a great centerpiece for a table that does get rave compliments .... to parents worried about pvc, are you also worried about the 2012 mayan apocalypse?? I KID I KID!!!
your concerns are viable and the punch tastes no different without the plastic ducks/frogs/etc.
