Dune has been producing high-quality contemporary furniture since 1998. The designs of Tom Dixon, Nick Dine, Fabien Baron, Jeffrey Bernett, Harry Allen Victoria Meyers and Dune president Richard Shemtov recently found a new home in a new showroom at the north end of SoHo.
The street level space is filled with Dune designs — sofas, chairs and upholstered ottomans in addition to Dune's playful cabinetry, tables, desks and shelves.
The shapes of Dune pieces often take a back seat to the bright colors and flashy upholstery of many of the showroom pieces. Truly a contemporary line, Dune's sleek lines traverse styles. With the many custom finishes and upholstery options available, Dune furniture can be appropriate for a myriad of spaces.
I'm fond of the cork upholstery and some of the flashier colors that are rare — so often, people play it safe! Dune inspires a true exploration of color.
Prices are at the high end (almost everything is custom made to order) and Dune does a lot of contract business for offices, hotels and retailers. For a deal, watch for regular floor sample sales and seasonal sales.
The Dune team is helpful — an easier feat in the new space, where the staff can more easily interact with showroom visitors.
Dune also has a showroom in ABC Home & Carpet called Dune Living which carries its own line of similar Dune Living designs.

Purple, chartreuse and hot pink. It's like made a color scheme out of Punky Brewster's closet.
*...like they made... LOL
Purple, chartreuse and hot pink. I love it. Beats the beige, brown, gold, sage, off-white, and burgundy that they offer at places near me.
LOVE IT! for people who aren't afraid of using rich colours! neutrals have their place for sure, but mixing them together is the key... that sideboard with the 3 coloured doors is great!
i just stumbled across their soho shop two days ago and fell so in love with the chartreuse sofa! its so delicious.
Wow probably a good thing I don't live near this store!
