2007-04-02dysonroot.jpgA dust buster on steroids is what comes to mind when we see the Dyson Root 6 Handheld Vacuum Cleaner.

We'd read about the Dyson Root 6 in Wired magazine, and saw it again in the GeekBrief.tv Gadget Organizer video we featured this morning, so we wanted to read more about this for ourselves--and at $149.99, we're figuring that's some pretty good suction. Of course, the best would be to experience it ourselves, but after these reviews, we don't think that's necessary...

2007-04-02Dysoninaction.jpgOn Amazon.com, it rates 3.5 stars...which seems pretty amazing after all of the reviews complaining about the short-lived battery (5-10 minutes, according to reviewers), on a 3-hour charge. One reviewer said he couldn't believe that his old Black & Decker had far better battery life.

Dyson.com notes that you can empty the large-item canister with just the touch of a button and the attachments are built-in. But the Wired magazine review also noted that the roar of the motor puts it on-par with a shop vac 5 times its size.

It might not loose suction, but the noise of its 6-minutes of function will probably make you regret this purchase from the first use, despite it's Dyson good looks.
