Earthball

If we want our kids to care about the earth, we have to show them why it matters. Maybe the first step is to show them what the earth really looks like, scaled down to a size they understand. The Earthball is created using thousands of NASA satellite images, for a comprehensive overview of our globe.

Hold it in front of a bright light for a few minutes, and the world's cities light up across the planet, making this a very effective teaching tool for showing kids that the world is bigger than our backyard, our hometown, or even our own country. Earthballs are a very simple visual reminder of where we are in the cosmos, and if the point of them isn't getting across to your kids, they come with a 16 page resource guide. Yeah, summer homework! Of course, at just $14.95, they are also inexpensively priced beach balls, and work handily in a game of pick up volleyball.
