Green Shopping via Earth Moment

Green Shopping via Earth Moment

Nov 26, 2007

The greening of Cyber Monday. Today, millions of people will whip out their credit cards and contribute to the busiest online shopping day of the year. Since we're going to spend it anyway, let's keep our cash green.

Earth Moment is an ecologically-minded e-buy middle man who has partnered with hundreds of heavy hitters in online commerce: Ebay, Gaiam, Apple Store...

Just type in what you're looking for (from flatscreens to flooring to flowers) and Earth Moment will list all entries for easy comparison shopping. Once you're ready to purchase, you'll be linked directly to the online vendor to complete the sale. For each sale, fifty percent of Earth Moment's commission (paid solely by the vendors) will then be donated to "investments in renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation projects around the country/world."

They also have a system in place where users can rate stores, in general or ecologically-speaking, and daily tips for carbon reduction.
