We really love closet home offices. If you don't have enough space to dedicate a full room to a home office, making a closet home office is the way to go. The trouble is that it's not that easy to come up with a closet home office that looks good. That's why we really like the idea of renovating closet home offices. Take a look at these before and after shots. You just can't compare!
Rwotten and his wife converted a closet into a mini-office, however they were unhappy with the clutter and the general feel of it, so they decided to remodel it. They kind of pulled a clean sweep on their little home office and the result is pretty amazing. It's like the difference between day and night.
The main objective in this renovation was to create extra organizing and storage space. Rwotten confides that it took a few weekends, some paint, an unfinished filing cabinet, some plywood and pre-made cabinet doors to pull this remodel together.
The actual lower drawers have a false front in order to hide a filing cabinet. The cabinets above the desk hide the computer and its peripherals. All wires have been routed behind the drywall. There is also new built-in lighting, which is a life saver when you need a lot of light. On top of that, they used a paint several shades darker than the one in the main room in order to create the illusion of depth! How smart was that?
