What is the advantage of SMALL? Small is liberating. Why? When you want to change, the smallest change makes the biggest impact. I recently switched out hotel suite décor for more simplified Scandinavian, which completely changed everything, including how I feel in my space (I'm recently divorced, so I needed it!)...

What is the advantage of SMALL? CONT'D

Small always forces me to ask, is this exactly how I want to live? And when the answer is yes, there is nothing better than small—looking around, and being surrounded by what you love

What's your favorite resource for your home?

Everything Internet (especially ebay, architonic, and retromoderndesign.com) and the NYC Pier and Modernism shows.

What is your one favorite element in your small, cool home?

Everything that WORKS: the coffee table converts to a dining room table by flipping the metal base on its side; the DIY headboard (made with a Dora Jung tablecloth) makes a nice reading/sleeping nook, the DIY double curtains keep out the light and the hotel across the street, the built in media console hides the radiator and the electronics, the Knoll credenza serves as a home office.
