What inspired you to use color? I am not talented like Vincent Van Gogh to create the most amazing paintings but I love & use his ideas of color to create an environment that makes me wanna come home with much joy & happiness. Here is what the master inspired me with his own words on color. "Instead of trying to reproduce exactly what I see before me, I make more arbitrary use of colour to express myself more forcefully ... To express the thought of a brow by the radiance of a light tone against a dark background. To express hope by some star. Someone's passion by the radiance of the setting sun." Vincent van Gogh, 1888...
Color Tip: Even though I own my apartment, I still did not find the courage to paint the walls. In order to bring colors into my one bedroom apartment, I use real art work. As a matter of fact I have 39 paintings around the apartment. (My friends think with my love of art, the next project would be building a wall to make room for newly purchased art work)
Fall Colors Introduction -------------------------------
Welcome, everyone, to our Fourth Annual Fall Colors Sharing & Contest. We're looking for the most beautiful & colorful home in the world and sharing all of the great ideas we get with our readers. This year we're amping things up and hoping to do things better than ever. There are two basic phases, the Sharing Phase and the Voting Phase...
1. Sharing Phase - you comment, judges decide
The 40 best, completed entries will be posted on a daily basis for three weeks. You can view them all at anytime via our new, improved contest pages under ALL ENTRIES. During this time your comments are VERY IMPORTANT as our six judges will be choosing 16 finalists from each region based on comments and their own colorful opinion.
2. Voting Phase - you vote till you drop
Starting October 20th, finalist voting will begin on a daily basis through our new bracketed voting system, which will pit our 16 finalists against one another until only one remains. Sound exciting? We hope so.
Best, Maxwell

Love this home...great submission
Cool!!
Wow!
i love the artwork above the bed! where is it from?
love it, feels like home. i have the same mirror as the one in photo 2 above the little oriental girl painting. it has been with me since childhood and has hung on many walls.
i love the paintings of the four seasons and the cart of mini- goodies :)
love, love, love the art about the bed.
Hi Guys,
The artwork was a temporary solution in lieu of a headboard but I received such a wonderful feedback from family & friends, I decided to keep it like this for a while. I bought the set in a store in Union Square, cannot remember the name though:-((
The small mirror in the entrance hallway was purchased from a church yard sale and I love it.
Mini goodies in the cart is a matching item for the dresser in my bedroom, the knobs have the cart wheels, so cute.
I submitted the apt photos twice by mistake and this is the one I submitted earlier, hopefully AT will make the changes and you will see another corner of my apt. (the kitchen photo seems to be repetitive).
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

like it! i'd like to see more.
Very nice. I like how personal the space feels. Its clearly a collection of things you love.
Who is the painting in the first image by? The golden one with the farmer with his arm around a woman? I love it.
great colors and combination of colors. loved the living room and how the light shades over green painting. your bedroom looks elegant with four paintings assuming those are for each season. am i right?
They say that home is where the heart is and you can really feel the warmth and love in this apartment. I have never been inside but I can understand that it is somewhere I would like to be at the end of my day.
The colors and the art and furniture all come together in a magical way. There is not one prevailing theme and because of that I believe that the apartment appeals to many people with different tastes.
You are a true inspiration...good luck with the contest
Galia
good job. & i totally agree w/ you. art is a great way to add color to your home. & it's way easier to swap out than paint.
I love it. You have really made a beatiful home. It makes you feel at ease. Lovely...good at decorating and also finding what to buy...perfectttttt
so sweet!!! how you can find such nice things and make a home like this. details in your house like the mirror make it look beautifull. I loveeee itttttt
I love the details in your accessorize, especially the wall paintings and the pillows on armchairs. colours are so properly arranged...I would be glad if you can advice me in future when I decorate my own house =)
I love it:) beautiful colors, cute accessories...very warm and cozy...
Very Very Lovely. Wonderful art, subtle relaxing colors.
This is a place i'd like to live in, but I'd like to see more of the rooms not only details, which are stunning anyway.
Am I the only one who's not in love with this place? I like some of the color choices - especially the brightly colored tufted couch. But overall - still feels a little empty and bland. Like a bunch of paintings on a white wall... good, but not sophisticated, creative, or challenging.
Beautiful! The warmth and detail found here are the elements I wish I could achieve in my own home. I look forward to more pictures!!
wonderful !!! I love it so much!! I'd like to see more details ...
Absolutely love it, especially the bedroom :)
Hello Dido,
I love what you did with your apartment. I looks absolutely beautiful!
I love the artwork and the brightness of your livingroom.
Job well done!
Looks like you have your own little museum with all these paintings! have to say i loved the color combination...very lively and warm.
Smart use of such a small place, clutter free and neat!
