What inspired you to use color? I am inspired by the way colors evoke moods, interact with light and texture, and instantly create an atmosphere. In my home I aimed to create a color pallet that relayed my love of ever-inspiring mid-century design...
Color Tip: If you are challenged by creating a color scheme for your entire house, look around at all of your beloved home accessories and knickknacks. Most often your personal color scheme is right there!
Colors Used: All Benjamin Moore: Soft Pumpkin, Mocha Brown, Iced Cube Silver, Covington Blue, Robin's Nest, Pale Jade
Fall Colors Introduction -------------------------------
Welcome, everyone, to our Fourth Annual Fall Colors Sharing & Contest. We're looking for the most beautiful & colorful home in the world and sharing all of the great ideas we get with our readers. This year we're amping things up and hoping to do things better than ever. There are two basic phases, the Sharing Phase and the Voting Phase...
1. Sharing Phase - you comment, judges decide
The 40 best, completed entries will be posted on a daily basis for three weeks. You can view them all at anytime via our new, improved contest pages under ALL ENTRIES. During this time your comments are VERY IMPORTANT as our six judges will be choosing 16 finalists from each region based on comments and their own colorful opinion.
2. Voting Phase - you vote till you drop
Starting October 20th, finalist voting will begin on a daily basis through our new bracketed voting system, which will pit our 16 finalists against one another until only one remains. Sound exciting? We hope so.
Best, Maxwell

I think this is my favorite so far. Love everything about it! Clean, cozy, beautiful.
I like this alot - especially the living room and the cozy dormer/windowseat.
color...pattern...light, i love it. where are the dining room curtains from?
That windowseat is so great and I love your living room. I am not a patterned curtain fan but you really used them nicely in your rooms.
geez, where to begin...love love love the dress form in the bedroom - I've always wanted one of those. The wallpaper is bananas! i luv it. The wondow seat shot is just gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your home with us :)
Love the wallpaper and the drapes in the kitchen. Where did you get the curtains? I especially love the wide shot of the living room - really good, controlled use of colors. The chocolate doesnt overwhelm the couch, the coffee table and the chocolate coordinate without matching. Quite lovely and sophisticated.
I really love this one. The natural light is excellent and that baby room is a-dor-a-ble.
oh I love!
Absolutely love this home- beautiful color palette! where is the rug in the living room from?
soo pretty & well organized, would love to live here
A winner! ABSOLUTELY my favorite so far!
Hot damn! This one is most definitely my favorite.
This looks beautiful, but in a doable not overstudied way. Where did you get your bed lamps?
love the coffee table! This is a very warm and comfortable home!
I have been coveting that wallpaper for weeks! Now I want it even more! Lovely place!
Please tell me about the 6 prints over the sofa...they are very cute!
beautiful wallpaper!
I really, really like this tour. And I'm hoping some kind soul knows where the sofa is from because it's fabulous.
Wow! Thank you so much for your comments! To answer some questions: The printed curtains in the kitchen are panels of Marimekko fabric. The rug in the living room is from CB2 (last year). The couch is from Bo Concepts. The bedside lamps are from Ikea. The prints over the sofa are from the Charlie Harper book that's sitting on the coffee table! Thanks again!
i like the living room
Really great -- especially love the couch, and yay for Joom pillows! Where are the great giraffe pillows from?
The images of this home have forced me to re-examine my current life path (I constantly travel for business). Warm, fun, welcoming and yet timelessly cool. To me it appears the decor was gathered over a long period of time--an effort that usually leaves interiors looking disjointed to those who attach no sentimental value to the keepsakes on display. Here everything falls into place. It is as if the lamp, the wall paper and the aforementioned prints were fated to meet in Jamie's living room. Way to go. Now if I could only get my hotel room in Moscow to look like that.
I think it's clear: we have a winner.
I love the light by the window box...reading nook.
tons of color refined palate MCM = WINNER
um, apparently my plus signs didn't show up?
tons of color [plus] refined palate [plus] MCM
[equals] WINNER
great job.
I will be voting for this space. great job!

very very good- the best i have seen so far-
who dosn't want that wallpaper? seriously!
I guess I'm the only one who doesn't know where is that wallpaper from... where is it from?
It's Orla Kiely! I love that wallpaper.
Danke Schön!
This is by far my favorite room. So warm and inviting. Obviously the designer has immense talent decorating with color. Flawless comes to mind when I view each room. Everything from the furniture to the wallpaper flows together perfectly. Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want this designer to come to my home.
Looks great!
Thank you to everyone who voted for us!! It feels really nice...:)
Can I move in?
soothing, sophisticated! winner
We are voting for you. The best by far!!!!!!!!!!
hey Jamie...this is R&R ranch. i would have faced you in this round had i moved through yesterday. i would have enjoyed the face-off, as i really like your space and use of color.
if you are concerned about any strange voting patterns today, i would encourage you to contact the editors. it's important to note if/when strange things happen, as they did last night when over 40 votes were cast for entry #56 (my competitor) in about 15 minutes at 2:15 am., making me lose by 9 votes. i'm not bitter, just worried that this is more of a popularity contest, rather than a 'use of color' design contest.
again, i would have liked to compete against you.
r of r&r ranch
Clean-cozy-beautiful-that 1st comment said it all. I love it.
Your dormer window seat reminds me of the one I had growing up-but yours is even better. Love your simple pictures on the LR wall-cute idea. Nice-really nice. Loved you
paint colors on the walls.
You were robbed! After I got knocked out, I was 100% rooting for you...again, great job/beautiful home!
I agree! Yours was my absolute favorite.
I thought the face off yesterday with you and the Chromatic Casa was a tough one. I really enjoy your space a lot. Thank you for sharing!
Jamie - You were our favorite as well. I figured if we could make it out of the Southwest bracket we'd lose to you. I just love your home!
Beautiful, beautiful job! I loved the wallpaper, loved the painted walls, I loved the curtains. I loved the art work in the living room. So creative and sensitve!
The only thing that left me cold was the 20's - 40's diva art grouping.
Do we ever get to see what you did with the kitchen or bathroom?
Thank you for entering the contest. You have given a lot of people inspiration and pleasure.
Not my style, but the way in which you've organized your living space is flawless.
Thank you for sharing.
Thanks everyone for voting and all your encouraging comments!! :)
Love it all!! By far, my favorite entry. I'd love to know, where did you get the brown & green pillows on the LR sofa?
Love. Love. Love! Where is that wallpaper from in the living room. Divine! :)
