What inspired you to use color? It started with a 1999 issue of Architectural Digest...The pinky-orange on the walls of a coastal Mexican home got into my head, and I dragged that magazine along with me through 4 apartments in two states before I finally got an approximation of that color up on the wall. In the meantime, we had some kids, and I wanted to extend color throughout the place to create a special environment to live and play in. The colors make us happy!...
Color Tip: If the color resonates with you, and you find yourself drawn to it over and over, it will probably be a color you will love living with, whether in small doses (a cookie tin) or on the walls.
Colors Used: All colors Benjamin Moore Eco-Spec. LR: 1304 All-a-Blaze, Boy's BR: 820 Misty Blue, Girl's BR: 2021-40 Yellow Highlighter, MBR: 2115-50 Iced Mauve
Fall Colors Introduction -------------------------------
Welcome, everyone, to our Fourth Annual Fall Colors Sharing & Contest. We're looking for the most beautiful & colorful home in the world and sharing all of the great ideas we get with our readers. This year we're amping things up and hoping to do things better than ever. There are two basic phases, the Sharing Phase and the Voting Phase...
1. Sharing Phase - you comment, judges decide
The 40 best, completed entries will be posted on a daily basis for three weeks. You can view them all at anytime via our new, improved contest pages under ALL ENTRIES. During this time your comments are VERY IMPORTANT as our six judges will be choosing 16 finalists from each region based on comments and their own colorful opinion.
2. Voting Phase - you vote till you drop
Starting October 20th, finalist voting will begin on a daily basis through our new bracketed voting system, which will pit our 16 finalists against one another until only one remains. Sound exciting? We hope so.
Best, Maxwell

I think this is beautiful - and I like how your yellow curtains make the room yellow, a very nice trick if you don't want to commit to a paint color.
Really gorgeous! Very warm and inviting. That paint color really is fabulous.
Love the star pendant over the desk in your living room. Info, please?
Very pretty! Love your color choices.
I'm liking the sorbet colors in this apartment - seems quite refreshing.
The salmon color is BEAUTIFUL - PERIOD
Yay, this is so nice and kid-friendly without being kid-centric.
Thank you for the lovely comments. The pierced aluminum star pendant is from southern Arizona...very pretty at night with a candle inside. And I also love the three hours a day when the sunlight through the curtains paints the room yellow!
I just love that pink-orange. I wouldn't really call it salmon. It's perfect! I especially love image #6. This house is a real winner!
alright your child is adorable
btw, i wouldn't call that color pinky-orange either; maybe more of a melon color. i didn't think i would like the color, but i do....you've changed my mind.
how fun!
I love how bright and happy, but also clean, that living room color is. It's strong but not at all garish - great choice! And the kids' rooms are so fun!
cute kid!! such warm and inviting colors, and so unique. your house has a real human touch to it.
Love this apartment! the justaposition of colors, textures and artwork is great! love how the sunlight colors the space!
It's a wonderful place for adults and kids!
Super job!!
You've got a great balance of color and texture with all kind of components, from bedspreads to pictures and lamps, that are not cluttered like what you see in magazines.
In other words, you've got the right amount, and you can feel the positive energy, which you can't if the rooms are overloaded with stuff-
Love the lavendar, aqua, white and brown bedroom- so crisp! beautiful!
cool apartment! great colors and envigorating!
great for New England light!
love this house!
What a great apartment! The colors are so vibrant and contemporary. They are lovely juxtaposed against the very traditional architectural elements. The design clearly shows how traditional spaces can serve as extraordinary backdrops for modern living!
I would never have imagined I could like that salmon/melon color and so much of it at that but I do! Your place is lovely.
