lol I agree with LaurieLu.
I still mourn the loss of the most brilliant Elle Decoration UK edition, when it was "the most beautiful most useful modern homes magazine". There was an advisory board for the magazine, a prominent member of which was Romeo Gigli.
My favourite years were under Toni Rogers, who left in 2004.
Under her, there was a brilliant "Deco Details" section at the back of the magazine on non-glossy paper, sort of the practical nuts-and-bolt or how-to part of the magazine. My favourite part of Deco Details was, hands down, "Deco Rescue". Every month, they had owners with a real deco problem, and they got proposals from 3 prominent designers, with a budget option, mid-range and "hang the expense". The things these British designers came up with were amazing, and they provided a list and photos of the resources. Amazingly creative! I cherish all my old issues...
Now, Elle/UK is just so-so, and is a very ordinary part of the Elle Deco stable (Netherlands, Scandinavia, Spain, Belgium, etc.). Frankly, the French edition is now more creative.
Oh, and Elaine, you may have cleaned out YOUR tea collection, but now you have me itching to order Kusmi tea!!

Boligmagasinet, a Danish publication, is adorable! Their web site is ok, but in print it is absolutely great. The homes they show are light and airy, and still often full of colors. :) You have to love Scandinavian design, though. Sometimes there are a few too many Arne Jacobsen chairs...

My other guilty pleasure is Marie Claire Maison, I buy it for the pictures, but claim it's to read French. :)

Oh and I donated 3 boxes of tea to a friend. I had them in double. I would call that an "A" for a real sizing down effort! It was hard. ;)
<B>@ mschatelaine: for a good sample of the Kusmi-tea collection, head to Zabar's in the Upper West Side. Buy a little tea spoon upstairs (the kind you fill in with loose tea, perfect for 1 cup) and have choose your tea downstairs.
And I agree totally with you on the original Elle Décoration (i.e. French): much better. Plus, easier to read for me. :)
I also like Marie-Claire Maison but it tends to be a little be more on the "country" side. Which is fine. But not in my place.
I gave my vote to Elle Decor UK but also enjoy World of Living immensely

Ooh, this is the part that I've been waiting for! I totally failed on the kitchen week, I didn't even clean it! But this one I'm determined to do, as I spend too much time every single morning, looking for my keys and my phone, and I have a real problem dealing with mail. This is going to improve my life, no less!!!

I tried to suscribe for the cure but was not succesful...couldn´t get the book....bla, bla,bla anyway I was commited to cure my home so here is my progress so far, hope you like it as much as I do, specially my "landing strip", or "launch pad" and hope to hear your wise advice...thanks!

Sunday brunch, strata with farm fresh eggs (from 4 breeds of hens); grass-fed cow's milk, baguette from that morning, basil from garden, sungold tomatoes-last of the season! and vermont cheddar. Will have to remember to take photo before serving with mandarina oranges and strata disappearing.
