Have you ever wondered what truly exceptional customer service feels like? If you want to experience it first hand, do business with EasyClosets.com. I was initially skeptical about designing and purchasing our master bedroom closet online, but I read quite a few positive reviews from others who had very good experiences with EasyClosets.com. I decided to try them.
The first step was the closet design, all done via their extensive online design tool. It was a little tricky at first, having to download the JAVA software, and get familiar with how the design tool works. The tool lets you try as many designs as you’d like, and saves them so you can come back and work on them when you have time. After my 3rd design iteration, my wife approved, and I was ready to call and order.
This is where things get really good. I called on a Wednesday morning, went over the design with a very helpful and knowledgeable design consultant, placed the order, and received the closet two days later on Friday – unbelievable!! It came in 16 boxes, each clearly labeled with the specific contents. Box number 1 is to be opened first, and it contains a detailed set of clear instructions on how to unpack and take a full inventory, using an included inventory listing to check off against. It took me about 2 hours to get everything open, checked, and sorted. There were no errors, nothing damaged, nothing missing. The most pleasant surprise was the high quality of the hardware, from the steel track to the brushed nickel rods, as well as all the shelving support.
On Saturday, I started following the detailed installation instructions, with no confusion or misunderstandings. The track goes up first, and I was extremely careful to find and use studs for support. The trickiest part of my installation was a 7 foot tall, 14 shelf shoe unit, on a pocket door surface. It took a little extra time to find the studs that would support this very heavy unit, which also had to be cleated for stability. By the end of the day, all the track was up.
On Sunday, I started hanging the verticals and installing the cam(structural) shelves. What a pleasant surprise to have these go in with almost no effort. The European cam hardware could not be easier, or faster, to install.
At one point, though, I realized that one of the verticals should have been finished (i.e. no shelf holes showing through), because the bottom half would be visible when entering the room. I knew I would have to call and get a replacement, and wondered how the post sale experience would be. Well, sure enough, my call was received by a support rep who said “Our goal is perfection”, and immediately sent the replacement part, again 2nd day delivery, at no charge. One more call was required to replace a shelf connector that I had cut incorrectly. Even though I was willing to pay for my mistake, they again insisted on sending a replacement at no charge.
The closet is finished, my wife is happy, and my thanks go to Easyclosets.com for a fantastic experience.

I recently received and installed an easy system in my master bedroom walk-in.

My wife and I enjoyed using the online tool to create the design and found the tool easy to use and effective. We also called in to speak to a design specialist to make sure we made the right decisions. This was a good idea as the feedback we received produces a profoundly better design. My wife was particularly pleased with this area of support.

The boxes arrived three days later, even though we bought the materials on a Saturday. We could not believe how fast they were received! I followed the directions and performed a complete inventory, and must admit to being surprised to find the entire inventory was both present and accurate. The installation was completed in about 9 hours, and while I was apprehensive at first, I soon found confidence from the accuracy of the directions and the simple yet thorough way they explained the requirements.

During the installation I had occasion to call in twice to seek verification that my interpretation of the instructions was valid. The support staffer was able to quickly interpret my questions and answer them perfectly, in a way I could clearly understand.

My experience in working with easy closets was positive in every possible measure. I am completely impressed!!

EasyClosets.com rocks! My husband found them, looking for a closet organizer for our master bedroom closet. It was easy (and fun) designing the layout. The price was very reasonable. The delivery was just a few days after we submitted our order. The installation was amazingly simple. 2 weeks later, and we've designed and ordered organizers for a hall closet, and saved designs for two more bedroom closets (which we will order when the time is right for us). We bought a townhome last October which was finished very nicely except for the walk in closet in the master bedroom which was very generic and inefficient for our hanging and storage items. The banter about Easy Closets.com vs. California is just wasted breath. Our new Master Closets were so easy to install, fit our space as if there were a professional in my bedroom with a tape measure running a saw, and yes they were one third the cost of the CC quote that we had.

The woman who wrote above about being able to tell the difference btwn Easy Closets and CC works for CC!! Are you serious?

Easy Closets.com was also less money than the quote we had from a local contractor who would have installed another brand, inferior quality system.

When my husband and I moved into our new home we first got a quote from California Closets for our master bedroom walk-in closet. It was so expensive that my husband began researching other options and he discovered the EasyClosets website. Even though we were a bit skeptical about ordering online, we fell in love with the ease of using the website, the helpful and pleasant conversations with the designer and the price which is so much less than CC that we took a chance. Wow, were we impressed and delighted. All the parts came exactly when we asked, and my brother and husband installed the system in a few hours. My brother, an experienced and perfectionist builder, could not stop raving about how well everything worked together and how good the quality was. We loved the result so much that we used the EasyClosets system to finish our laundry room and our hall closet. We show off the results to our friends and family who all ooh and aaah in envy.
We're sad that we only have two more closets in our house to finish and are already trying to figure out how we will "kick" our EasyClosets habit.

As for being able to tell the difference between EasyClosets and California closets, I agree with ChipM--Are you serious?? The only difference we can tell is that EasyClosets is less expensive and much more fun!

My wife hated the wire form shelves in her closet and I did a complete retrofit with Easyclosets. Closet design was done for free by their Designer based on the closet dimensions and my wife's preferences. After a pleasant phone conversation we finalized the details and bought it. The next day, all was shipped via UPS and it arrived in good order in two days. Hardest assembly required cutting the steel hanger bars to lenght and attaching them to the walls. The rest was easy using a power drill with Phillips screwdriver bits. Highly recommend their product and customer service.

We are THRILLED we are with our new closets from easyclosets.com! I designed on Tuesday, my design was reviewed with minor suggestions by Wednesday morning, I ordered Wednesday at 3:30pm and 29 boxes (1600 pounds!) were delivered by Friday at noon.
I started building on Friday evening. My husband and I worked all day Saturday
and I kept going until 2am. We put in the finishing touches on Sunday, then populated the closet with clothes and stuff - and we still have plenty of room!

We were impressed with the quality of product, excellent instructions and relative ease of installation (we are both pretty handy, but the only part that was tricky was leveling things in our 110 year old house - not the fault of easyclosets.com for sure!).
The only reason it took so long was that we had so much to do. The closet is absolutely beautiful and it was the last thing left to do
in our newly restored (from a fire in 2010) home. Next summer I will order more from easyclosets.com to spruce up the laundry room.
I checked out other closet companies, but I found some too pushy, others unresponsive and some had products (wire shelving) that I didn't want. But, I have to say, the Java closet designer was the thing that hooked me - that and the VERY quick turnaround after I submitted my design for review!

All of that said, if you don't have any tools, realize that you need tools to do the job. I used a jigsaw with a metal cutting blade because I hate using hacksaws. That method cut the metal wall brackets like they were butter!

An excellent experience overall and generally just a lot of fun to install! (note that I do like building things)
