Sometimes the simplest of things are the easiest ideas to forget about. Often times it's easy to think a diy project has to be a daunting undertaking, but not today. Click through to see how easy this recycled doorstop is to make...
Our friends over at Readymade featured this super quick tutorial to making your phone book into your brand new, or shall we say, recycled doorstop. It involves making a cardboard cover for it and it's outer artistic styling is left up to you. Keep it simple as they've done here, or use up a scrap piece of wrapping paper for a bright pop of color and texture for your space.

Shaw's Original Fir...
When I was a wee little boy, my grandmother used the Yellow Pages as a booster seat for me to sit at her dining table.
Great try to recycle the use of phone book but I think our whole family of 4 will be tripping over this all the time. Using it as a booster seat seems like a more sensible idea.
HAH bepsf... me too.
however, that book above, while cute for the fact that it says "the doorstop", is just too massive to be allowed. I imagine the 2nd or 3rd time the right pinky toe is stubbed to oblivion, that ginormous object will be relegated to an unused location elsewhere. As for me, I used a really cool brick that I salvaged from the Hudson River (there are massive amounts that were used as fill over the years)
A better idea would be to put the old phone book in the paper recycling bin and use a brick or a small boulder for a doorstop.
BTW:
ITS outer artistic styling
I agree. It's far too big for a doorstop. My local recycling accepts phone books.
It could be neat to turn a stack of them into a cheap/free DIY bedside table.
Ooh, cool idea, elankat. With a glass top.
