Armed with a minimal amount of hardware and some simple suet mixture, an ordinary log turns into your newest wildlife sanctuary. It's bound to attract all sorts of birds, squirrels and possibly neighborhood children. It's as easy as drill, fill and hang!

We ran across this great hanging log tutorial over at Modish where the process of making this simple creation are outlined in a fabulous step-by-step tutorial. Each log gets holes drilled into it which are then stuffed with suet. Once outfitted to hang from a tree, you're all set to go.

As you go about your Spring limb cuttings, keep this great project in mind, it's a great way to make something extra special for the wildlife in your area, just remember to keep up with the suet, or as we like to call it, squirrel crack.
