Although wallpaper is all the rage right now, in a children's space it's easy to be hesitant about the price, labor and commitment that it brings. Although you can tear it down and replace it later on, wallpaper doesn't change as easily as your child's tastes. Enter... oil cloth!
Instead of spending a small fortune on wallpaper, only having to eventually remove it, why not give oil cloth a try? Oil cloth can be found in boutique stores as well as your local fabric and craft stores and in all colors and patterns.
This room from Flickr member lakbdesign/fergusandme is not only a well put together space, but makes a big impact for very little money. The oil cloth is framed out with cut molding and can be easily pulled off and re-nailed when you want to change out the motif down the road.
The vintage globe and a few pieces from Pottery Barn round out the space and we have to say, job well done!
