We love easy projects we can make with our kids, and this easy peasy scarf definitely fits the bill. If you're not the greatest sewer, no worries -- all you need to do is able to sew in a straight line.
To create this simple fleece fringed scarf, purchase two different complementary fleeces -- one for the top layer, and one for the bottom. Use your judgment in selecting how much fleece you need: is the scarf going to be for a child, or an adult? One of the scarves we made was for adult and we bought two yards of fleece.
Once the fleece is cut the desired length and width, place one layer of fleece directly on top of the other and simply sew the two pieces together by stitching the center.
Now, finish up the scarf by having your child create the fringe using children's scissors, making sure they stop cutting just short of the center stitch. The end results are a fun, sassy scarf and a sense of pride and accomplishment for your little helper.
