A coffee table is a pretty important piece in the grand scheme of your living room. It's both utilitarian and a chance to make a style statement. The biggest problem when shopping for a coffee table, though, is that the truly unique ones often cost an arm and a leg. So I tasked myself with finding 12 that come in under $500 and offer way more stylistically than your standard wood or open frame table. Cool budget-friendly coffee tables are out there, folks, and this isn't even counting secondhand sources. A handful are even under $250, so get to clicking.

Everybody's favorite designing family now has a furniture collection with Amazon, and this perforated coffee table is very striking in gold. It also comes in black if you're looking for something a little less gilded.

How could I do a post on stylish fast furniture without including the O.G., IKEA? An answer to the incredibly popular rattan trend, this long and slender table is subtle but the texture it brings a room speaks volumes. Also available in a smaller size.

If you have Carrara marble taste and a laminate budget, this guy's about as good as fool-the-eye styles get. It's also long and thin, making it pretty small space friendly.

Brass and black together is always a winning combination for furniture as it's super chic and modern. Another special facet of this affordable table? The diagonal detail at the base of the frame.

Our Previous Lists:

Did you swoon over the live edge coffee table Emily Henderson had at her last place? Me too. This hairpin leg style offers a similar vibe for about a third of the price.

Good things come in threes, and you can snag this whole mirrored setup for just under $300.

This pint-sized pretty is the real deal. The top is polished marble, and it's been carved in a circular shape to keep the silhouette compact and easy to move around.

Other Good Resources:

Did you know Sauder has an ultra modern, higher-end collection called Sauder Boutique? Lucky for us, it's still all really affordable. Made of steel, pine and smokey glass, this modular coffee table offers a lot of flexibility and gets bonus points for its sleek integrated magazine rack.

Are we over pineapples? I thought I was until I saw this whimsical aluminum stunner that's part of the Fred Segal capsule collection at CB2. It's a definite conversation starter.

The perfect intersection of form and function, this table looks like modern art, but it's also home to four separate storage shelves/compartments for all your odds and ends.

An under $500 coffee table at Anthro is like seeing a unicorn in the wild, so somebody please scoop this sculptural jute table up. It would add such great texture to space while still being visually light.

Talk about a statement piece. And isn't concrete pretty much indestructible? You'll get your money's worth out of this one if you're into that whole industrial chic look.
