Electric bikes are becoming more popular in Europe, with sales surging even when general bike sales are down. Popular with delivery services like the Deutsche Post and commuters who don't want to sweat, the adoption is starting in countries with strong bike cultures. In the US though, e-bikes still represent a niche market, partially because regulations, like those in New York State, still classify them as motorcycles.
