Just as we finished watching Parker Posey in the indie film, Broken English, a friend of ours sent over some photos of Posey's former New York co-op that sold last year. Take a look at some of the photos (and floorplan) below the jump, and tell us what you think...
Exposed brick on one side, and floral wallpaper in a dark teal on the other. We love that unexpected punch of bright orange and pink against the ebony wood floor.
The red walls and ceiling of the bathroom gives it an intimate feel, and the clawfoot tub painted black on the exterior offers a bit of old charm. A delicate and airy light fixture is a visual break from the heavy warm tones.
An iron bedframe, blue walls, and a violet rug in the bedroom that ties together neatly with the rest of the purple hues throughout the loft.

creepy, basement rec room comes to mind
very eclectic. i love the mirror over the purple couch. otherwise, i like her apartment in the movie better.
Broken English has got to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life. Painful beyond words. I SO want those 90 minutes of my life back, which I can spend to do more pleasant things, such as my taxes...
That so perfectly matches her film career: offbeat choices, but a strong personal style.
Don't like her style; I'd say mish-mash rather than eclectic. The apartment itself looks nice.
I hate most of her decor, but the bones of the apartment are great.
I really liked Broken English! It's much better than the junk that usually fills the "romantic comedy" category.
I like it, except for the gawky white rug.

"broken english" was largely bewildering. the only thing i liked was the actor, melvil poupaud, who i'd never really seen before. mrowwrrr. the ending is totally undeserved. does anyone actually know a woman like that?
oh, but i did buy the dvd and the (fantastic) soundtrack
i'm surprised by the apartment... she's become such a fashionista, i was expecting something more stylish... i'm a fan, but i don't like her digs
The bones of the place are great.....but the girl could use a designer at the most....and a stager in the least.

I love Parker Posey, and I am surprised by her space, which I guess is a good thing, I probably wouldn't like her so much if she was predictable.
Poor thing, hope she has a prettier place now. Kinda sad, this one.... And guys, if you want to see the film the so-so Broken English ripped off, check out Next Stop Wonderland. And for my Parker Posey all time top 5:

Like the bathroom best, the living room seems not eclectic to me, but like a set for a play, it doesn't seem like it came from an eclectic life

I would need prozac if I lived in it as it is.
It looks very dated...and not in a good way. (Loved her in "Best of Show".)
Yikes, this apt was actually designed by a professional! Linkage goes to the firm "Architecture at Large", helmed by Rafael de Cardenas, who is quite the scenester, boys and girls.
I guess I'm the only person who can say I love the apartment! The livingroom has that gloomy, Gothic feel I love. The only thing I don't like is the iron bed. For some reason iron beds creep me out (yet I like a Goth aesthetic, go figure).

A MIGHTY WIND, another Christopher Guest mockumentary (2003), this one about a bunch of '60s folk singers who reunite after a legendary folk music producer passes away and his children get these old folkies together for a tribute concert to their father: "Ode to Irving." Parker Posey played one of "The New Main Street Singers." Love this movie and its soundtrack, check it out, :)

Loving it - no MCM rubbish - nicely atmospheric with character
i am too biased for this because i love parker and i think she is amazing. loved broken english, her style is amazing in the movie and real life. only thing that sucks that she was ever involved in was "house of yes" and that tv show that she had for 5 seconds that i wanted to badly to love but now i cant even remember what it was called.
regarding the apartment, love that light fixture in the bathroom. hot.
