Browsing on the Target website this week, we stumbled upon its line of eco-friendly furniture. Though there are only a few pieces, and the prices are high compared to its other offerings, we hope that this is just the start of a move toward more eco-friendly options at Target and other retailers...

Eco-friendly features of the Linear line pictured here include:
- FSC/Rainforest Alliance certified SmartWood
- 100% formaldehyde-free birch plywood with 100% non-toxic stain
- UV cured finish
- flat-pack shipping
Made and designed in the USA, these pieces require no hardware for assembly. Right now this furniture is only available online, so we'd love to know if anyone has any experience with these pieces.

The line is already available at many smaller retailers, oddly enough at lower prices: http://www.puremodern.com/Click-To-Go-Home?search=linear
I'd be more supportive if Target was using their corporate resources to make something at a price point a little more accessible to the average consumer's wallet. I'd just don't see people forking out that kind of cash for a magazine rack at Target.com.
