When you hear "porcelain" you probably have visions of dishes, designer tiles, and ornate accents. But what about clean and modern with an eco-friendly twist? We came across this gorgeous take on porcelain tile that has started with an unexpected eco-friendly upgrade.
Since eco-friendly doesn't simply come from the ingredients that go into a product, but also the manufacturing and design aspects, a simple upgrade to porcelain has increased its sustainability quite a bit. So what's the upgrade?
The porcelain is significantly lighter. So what? That means less packaging, easier transportation, and easier storage. Interestingly enough, it can now cover up existing tile since it is thinner and lighter. Did we mention that it can also be digitally cut into designs? Pretty cool. It may still have a ways to go on the greenie scales, but the simple difference in weight alone has an impressive impact on reducing porcelain's impact.
