Eco-Gres Tile

Super huge tile is our new obsession. By super huge, we mean even bigger than the 12" x 24" tiles we used in our bathroom. We mean HUGE. See the picture of the house above? Each of those rectangles is one tile. Wow!

Are you with us?

Eco-Gres tile is porcelain, which lets it be manufactured in a range of sizes, from the mosaic tiles shown above to the 39 " x 118 " slabs of our dreams. At only 3/16 " thick, the material is a lot like glass: fragile, but strong. Green credentials are similar to other types of tile: it's inert and durable, albiet with a high degree of embodied energy. Most porcelain tile incorporates some kind of industrial waste (like bad batches of tile, ground up and reprocessed,) but we prefer to think of this kind of pre-consumer recycling as smart business practice rather than evidence of corporate environmental consiousness. Eco-Gres is imported and marketed by CoveringsEtc. Find a dealer near you here. More resources:BlazeStone 100 Percent Recycled Glass TileBest Product: Crossville EcoCycle Tile
