Name: Eden
Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Eden's room is a work in progress. We found out we were expecting when our first daughter was only eight months old, and then she arrived three weeks early to boot. With a newborn and a 16-month-old, we didn't have the energy to decorate her nursery with the same care and attention to detail that we had put into her big sister's room. But, it is finally starting to come together.
We live on the Canadian prairies and wanted this room to have a cozy but modern lodge feel. Our first nursery, including crib and change table, was still being used, so we wanted to keep our budget relatively low. The white IKEA Gulliver crib was a total score -- on sale for $49! And we repurposed a basic IKEA office table to use as a changing station. The black leather chair was on sale and, though it was a bit "bachelor pad" looking, I've tried to soften it up with a sheepskin and pillow.
To prevent the room from looking like we did all our shopping at IKEA, we added some special touches: the cardboard deer head, the Roll & Tumble print over the crib and -- my big splurge -- the wool Hudson's Bay Co. baby blanket.
I'm still looking for artwork or a mirror to put over the change table, and would love suggestions from your readers. But for now, we are happy with the simple calm space. The baby likes it, the toddler likes it, and when they are both happy, so am I!
Thanks Teresa!

White Enamel Flatwa...
Congrats Teresa, and good luck!
The room looks great, but as the dad of twin boys I would say -- lose the ladder. One day a little switch will go off, and a little brain will think: "Oh, that's for climbing." And it will happen when you least expect it....
Also: love the print.
Where did you buy the print? Thanks
Nevermind, Roll & Tumble. Thanks.
What is the color on that wall? It's INSAAANE!

I agree, it's a great paint color! Very calming.
Yes, great paint color - would love to know what you used!
would also love to know the paint color please. Gorgeous!
As a fellow Canadian, I would love to know where you found the ladder? I have been looking for one to hang quilts from in my living room!
Lots of paint colour questions! As a fellow Calgarian I am going to say it looks like the builder basic neutral paint colour LOL. Every new house in Calgary is painted this colour unless you "upgrade" and as soon as people move in they are busy erasing this colour from their house room by room! We owned a house built by Heartland Homes (now Brookfield) and our whole house was exactly that same colour!
I like the nursery and I love that you used mostly Ikea items but it isn't noticeable. If you had added a Poang chair that would have put it over the edge into "Welcome to my Ikea showroom" LOL. They really can't be beat for baby stuff. And their cribs are so much better than their $500+ competition!!! Honestly, we had a $700 crib given as a gift for our first baby and I sold it when she was 2 and ready for a twin bed. Fast-forward 4 years and there is a new baby in our life and she lives in a $98 discontinued crib we found in the AS-IS that my hubby painted grey for me. I love it 200% more than the expensive crib we had. I can also see us using this longer than 2 years since it turns into an actual toddler bed, not just a crib with a side rail off like the expensive one!
I love to see Calgary in the Room Shares! I hope to someday get it together and send my own in!
awww, i love that print. i have it too!
Love the Street Anatomy print!
Lovely, but wish I could see more.. Not so many vignettes, please....
Very, very pretty! Not sure what to put above the changing table, maybe an outdoor scene of some kind...
I might steal your paint color too! Very classy.
Thanks for the comments, everyone! As SJC guessed, the paint colour is used throughout our entire house. It's Ranchwood (CC-500) from Benjamin Moore, done in a washable flat finish.
And Arkay, don't worry! We'll be moving the ladder. It actually used to be in our first daughter's room until she found it a little too interesting. Leigh29, we bought the ladder about 10 years ago at a place in Calgary called Urban Barn (they are online, too, I think). It was dark brown and we used to hang throws on it in the living room before we painted it white. Hope that helps!
I like the overall flavour of your room! Where did you get the framed mirror on the wall at the foot of the crib? I like its proportions.
what brand is the air humidifier?
That is so funny about the wall paint color as I live in Calgary and yes...my walls are the same color, I call it the Starbucks influence haha! Man, one day I will have white walls. Anyway the second Cowtown house featured in 1 month and I like it :-)
Beautiful! Looks sooooo lovely!
Love it! Where is the mirror from?
The mirror is from -- where else? -- Ikea!
And Silverpen, the little machine next to the chair is actually a Graco white noise machine. We do use a Crane humidifier in our older daughter's room though...
I love the Hudson Bay Company throw added in there. :) Very cute!

Very Canadian!
As a fellow Calgarian - it is nice to see a room that fits our location.
