We are always looking for sleek and inventive solutions to furnishing a small home. Anything that does a double duty, does its job in a minimum allotment of space, or converts into something else piques our interest. The Editors at Metropolitan Home did just that in the March issue, featuring some interesting furnishings for “tight quarters.”

Their March issue was devoted to “Smart Small Spaces” and how to make them work. This article highlighted their favorite furniture that lives comfortably in, or makes the most of restricted quarters.

The “One Night Stand” sofa from Blue Dot is probably our favorite piece. It is a sofa that easily flips into a queen-size bed--and does it quite stylishly, to boot!

The Mia nesting trio, from Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams, comes in at a close second to the “One Night Stand” as a slick set of nesting tables in a gorgeous high-gloss robin’s egg blue that makes us want to transform everything we own to white, just to make these pop even more.

This Enchord mobile cabinet is probably the most efficient design, offering a drawer for supplies, shelving for books, and space for hanging files. From none other than Herman Miller, of course…

We love the idea of adding a couple of these Folding Poolside chaise and bolsters from Laneventure, perhaps even inside for an interesting alternative to large floor pillows.
