Looking back at our year in posts, I keep finding myself saying, "The kitchen is my favorite part of the home," only to realize I also love the yard, especially ones with sheds, but also the bathroom and the bedroom. And when great individual ideas come together to form a comfortable space that doesn't sacrifice the environment, it creates a wonderful space. These picks are mostly green style tours with a couple transformative ideas and a bit of inspiration.

1. Green Style: An Artful Farmhouse In the Catskills: This house is beautifully done - looks well lived in and well loved. The artifacts and art displays throughout the home make it truly unique and inspiring.
2. 16 Eco-Friendly Kitchen Countertops: My love for the kitchen ... I don't think the great counter top debate will ever end so this simply adds more ideas and resources to the already abundant options out there for a durable long wearing counter top.
3. Green Style: Airy French Kitchen: This kitchen is nearly a greenhouse with beautiful windows and lots of light.
4. Green Style: Jay Shafer's Epu: It's really not size that matters. A well designed kitchen with the right chef can make the same great food as a small one.
5. Before & After: An $80 Rental Kitchen Makeover: Simple and easy ideas for kitchen organization. What's not to love?
6. Green Style: Before & After Bedroom Transformation: The result of this bedroom transformation is stunning ... I've got work to do.
7. Green Style: Converted Subway Car Studios: Not only is this a stunning space, but the floors (deck tiles?) are great.
8. Green Style: Courtyard House by Studio Junction: This home combines the best of the outside with "inside" living spaces. Seamless transitions from inside to out, innovative storage and great windows complete this green space.
9. Stylish Spirits: Bottles You'll Want to Reuse: This collection of bottles is a beautiful reminder on how to use everyday items. Think of all those bottles that go out with the recycling ...
10. Window Farms: Hydroponic Edible Gardens for Urban Windows: Similar to the Kitchen Gallery: Living Plants in the Kitchen, this edible garden is a great idea.
11. Green Tour: Hudson Valley Fiber Farm: One of my many dreams is to live on a farm and this tour is exactly why: a beautiful house, cute friendly animals, working towards sustainability and local goods.
12. Farmhouse Chic: Rugged & Elegant Inspiration: But one of the best reasons to live on a farm is for farm style: I love farmhouse inspired kitchens and homes.
13. Chuck & Jessica's 196 Square Foot Green Shed: I built my own shed this year, and while it's nowhere near as elegant as Chuck and Jessica's, I still like seeing what I could have done.
14. Green Style: Storage Shed Turned Guest House:Another shed - this one more extravagant and useful.
15. Joyce's Eco-Friendly Home: The photos say it all: a beautiful, well-thought out home with a great yard.
