Name: Edrie (5 months)
Location: Portland, OR
Though we now know Edrie is a girl, we didn't prior to her birth. We knew it was popular, but a grey and yellow color palate worked perfectly for a gender neutral nursery. We were on a tight budget and I love to craft, so many projects in the room were DIY.
We first painted the walls. It took a few tries to find the right color, but Wet Pavement by Valspar worked perfectly. The dresser and rocker we already had, but they each got updates. The dresser was sanded and painted white. The rocker got a fresh coat of paint (Sun Ray by Behr) and new upholstery.
I couldn't resist making a cloud mobile, a nod to our return to rainy Oregon while we were expecting. I also made the quilt, crib skirt, and changing pad cover. Searching out fabrics for this room was a lot of fun. I was glad to use the embroidery hoop and bunting ideas to showcase a few of them!
I was heavily inspired by the nurseries featured on Apartment Therapy, especially Norah's Sweet and Sunny Nursery. The cloud mobile was certainly not my idea, though I LOVE it...they are all over pinterest and etsy. The bookcase was craigslisted, but originally from Ikea, as are the lamp and frames. The Follow Your Heart art is from Kohl's.

Cute! I love this.
The bunting and the quilt really make this work for me. Now I'm thinking about yellow accents for my own grey room!
What a beautiful chair!

Love this! And fittingly, I'm sitting in my home, watching the Portland rainfall as I type this. C'mon sunshine! :)
That is the cutest rocking chair I have ever seen. Excellent job!!!
wonderful. a really sophisticated room for a child, does not look like the result of a tight budget at all. i need nicole's help!
I love the fabric used on the chair and changing pad. Do you have any info. on it?
Some say variety may be the spice of life, but I, for one, am thrilled that AT showcased your nursery. It is a wonderfully done room and the colors are soothing and cheerful all in one. Excellent work, thank you for sharing with us!
What a beautiful room! I love the chair and your bright, happy redo of it.
What an amazing room- so calming, yet fun! Where are the great grey storage bins from?
A beautiful, calm and peaceful haven.
Congradulations on your bundle of joy. I hope she has many sweet times and long naps in her pretty room.
Ignore any rude comments - some people have no class !
I love it!!! So nice!! Congrats
I love everything about this room. Terrific job!
This is a really great looking room! One of my favorites on this site. I really love all the fun textiles. And I really like that you left the crib sheet plain white; highlight the quilts and bed skirt and give baby a peaceful place to rest. As your baby grows I hope you add other things that maybe don't "belong exactly" in the color scheme to keep it from looking like this "too perfect" room is made to appeal to an adult and not a child.
That mobile is gorgeous! This looks at least as good as any of the 'designer' nurseries I've seen on this site. Kudos!
I love the bright sunny rocker! And the mobile is precious.

Putting a positive spin on this dreary Portland weather, I love it! Especially love the pop of yellow. Gorgeous!!
So adorable! Ignore all the negative comments, people would have been rude no matter what the scheme was! I love the rocking chair, and the changing pad. The mobile is adorable as well! Great job, your little one is lucky to have such a well thought out room!
Love it! It takes talent to integrate all the inspiration you find online and make it work together - so I don't care if we've seen aspects of this before, the total package shows how you can make it work for you.
Where did you get the crib. Beautiful nursery!
Some people have no class. Ignore the rude comments. Its lovely. That cloud mobile is the cutest! Congratulations on your new arrival!
Yes, its been a popular color scheme lately, but that is because it works oh so well, especially in a gender neutral room. Trendy or not, no ones opinions matter but the family's in the end.
@KATLIA - Get over yourself sweetheart. If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all. The family put this room up because they are proud of it, as they should be, not to entertain and delight you.
@henzoetotto - So WHAT if you are sick of them? I don't know about you, but I personally chose to put things in my house that I enjoy, and I don't worry if some random person on he internet may or may not be "sick of seeing" . Don't like em, don't put them in your own space. Its very simple.
LOL, Sisterfunkhaus! I can't get over how ridiculous you are.
I LOVE this room! I am 16 weeks pregnant and starting to research what theme I want. We are going to find out the sex in a few weeks, but I love this room for either! I also love the quilt you said you made and was wondering if you used a pattern that you can point me to? Thanks!
