Name: Edrie (5 months)
Location: Portland, OR
Though we now know Edrie is a girl, we didn't prior to her birth. We knew it was popular, but a grey and yellow color palate worked perfectly for a gender neutral nursery. We were on a tight budget and I love to craft, so many projects in the room were DIY. We first painted the walls. It took a few tries to find the right color, but Wet Pavement by Valspar worked perfectly. The dresser and rocker we already had, but they each got updates. The dresser was sanded and painted white. The rocker got a fresh coat of paint (Sun Ray by Behr) and new upholstery.
I couldn't resist making a cloud mobile, a nod to our return to rainy Oregon while we were expecting. I also made the quilt, crib skirt, and changing pad cover. Searching out fabrics for this room was a lot of fun. I was glad to use the embroidery hoop and bunting ideas to showcase a few of them!
I was heavily inspired by the nurseries featured on Apartment Therapy, especially Norah's Sweet and Sunny Nursery. The cloud mobile was certainly not my idea, though I LOVE it...they are all over pinterest and etsy. The bookcase was craigslisted, but originally from Ikea, as are the lamp and frames. The Follow Your Heart art is from Kohl's.
