Egg cartons are one of the basic (free) staples for craft projects. Many, many caterpillars later, we are looking for something new to make.

Then we stumbled upon this egg carton heart project. Even though Valentine's Day is way behind us now, hearts are always appropriate. Patricia of A Little Hut made this wonderful framed artwork simply by cutting out the bottoms of egg cartons, painting them and gluing them onto cardstock. You can use this easy idea to help the kids make anything they can dream up.
