When you think of handmade ornaments, they either involve some sort of paper craft, noodle or pipe cleaner. Those are all well and good, but why not kick up your handmade goodness and make a few more egg-stra special, blown egg ornaments for your tree? It's not as hard as you think!

We think these painted up handmade egg ornaments are just as darling as can be and there's always something special about the extra fragile ornaments that require special care and attention each year as they are unpacked and placed upon the tree.

The above eggs are the handiwork of Beth Jurns over at Scrimpalicious who's idea we found over at Dollar Store Crafts this morning, which is quite fitting since assuming you have a few basic craft supplies on hand (twine, glue and paint or glitter) your only cost for this project is the eggs themselves. We can see this idea being glittered up Martha Stewart style if you're worried about little fingers crushing the shells while they're being painted. Simply paint with glue and let them roll them around in the sparkly stuff.

Make sure to check out the full tutorial and even if they're not destined for your tree, a set, boxed in their original packaging would be a fun gift for a friend or family member.
