A modern cafe au lait. The Ego breakfast cup and saucer is a generously sized set, capable of taking on all the steamed milk you can manage. The cups are designed to be stackable, making storage a snap.
The cup and its handle "fits" just within the outer rim of the saucer, making a separate rim for just the cup unneccessary, so the saucer is usable as a plate as well.
Designed by Stefan Lindfors and manufactured by iittala, the Ego breakfast cup and saucer ($48.) design has been translated into two smaller sized cups as well.
A standard sized coffee cup ($36.) and an espresso cup ($26.) look equally balanced and beautiful.
To complete the look on the breakfast table, a pitcher ($60.) featuring the same distinctive handle is available, too.

I like the look of this cup but it is so reminiscent of the Ole line from Royal Copenhagen designed by Ole Jensen.

I have an Ole cup and have held the Ego.. the Ole fits the curve of my hand much better, but that's just my personal preference. Everyone in my office though thinks I have a crazy coffee cup and don't quite know what to make of it.
Although I don't know anywhere in America one can purchase Royal Copenhagen (perhaps Georg Jensen on Michigan Ave?). I know that Ego line was sold at State St. Fields last year. No idea if Macy's is still carrying it.
