Urban Outfitters' new split-back Either/Or Sofa is inspired by mid-century daybed designs. You won't find a new sleeper sofa for much less than this...

At $480 (plus $115 shipping), it's an inexpensive option if you have a small space and you need a spot for guests to sleep. The back reclines at a couple of different angles to convert from a sofa to a lounge to a bed. The frame is steel, the upholstery is foam, and it comes in heather gray, orange, or sand. We haven't tried it in person, and it looks like it's currently only available for pre-order.

I like the look alot (particularly the orange one) and have been looking for a similar type sleeper sofa for my den - But I'm afraid that at this price, I'm concerned that it's a) Made in China, or b) going to end up broken down and in landfill in a couple years...
This is really cute. I like all of the color options. It would have been perfect for my first apartment.
i've been looking at this for a while now.. debating!! i love the gray..but i'm worried it's cheap construction.. anybody have one of these?

As great as this looks, I've heard nothing but bad things about Urban Outfitters furniture. Buyer beware!
animalhouze, We had a Good Question on AT:SF about this sofa -- take a look:

same here suzy.
i'm thinking of it as a sofa only for my office that won't get much use, mainly will be occupied during meetings and when guests come to stay for a weekend. i'm thinking as a secondary sofa it could be a safe purchase. thoughts?
they have them in some of the urban outfitters stores now (studio city). its very cute and easy to assemble.
Yeah, the recent AT good question about this makes me scream "Don't do it!" You know where you can find a *nearly* new cheaper sleeper of much higher quality? Craigslist.
Yes, I've been looking at this as well, but does anyone have any feedback on the Phoebe sofa by Chiasso? Is it comfortable?

Any information would be helpful!
This photographs well... And, the low price really frightens me. Buyer Beware!!!
I have a similar style sleeper from a company that makes a lot of futon frames and such. I have it in my office for those nights when I'm stuck there late or have a migraine and need a nap.
Ok, Ok, it's really for when I'm too hungover to work! ;)
I really liked the look of that, so I called Urban. Apparently it's not being shipped until mid June.
You may want to check out overstock.com. They have a pretty large selection of futons and sofabeds, and you can read customer reviews...
