Name: Eleanor and Oliver
Location: Southport, CT
When we moved to the suburbs from New York City (boo), our kids started sharing a bedroom. As spacious as this room is, it's been tricky to get the layout right because of two low windows and a bathroom door.
Since we've had the house, this room has had at least three different layouts, but this is the one that seems to be working the best for everyone! The kids have their separate corners, but there's also plenty of room for play. We have to have a dresser since Oliver still needs a changing table, and Eleanor's beloved dress-up dresser needed a nook also.
Just about everything in here is DIY or snagged at a flea market or consignment store. I made the Roman shades, repainted the bookshelf, lamp and changing table, and repurposed a small bureau to make storage for the dress-ups. The carpet is from a remnant store, and the wall decorations are flea market or Goodwill. Under the beds are the remaining drawers from the dress-up bureau repurposed with casters as extra moveable storage.
