Blue, blue, electric blue. That's the color of my room. (Sorry, we just can't pass up the chance to quote David Bowie lyrics.) Electric blue is a general term used to describe a vivid, mid-tone blue that can range from a Caribbean ocean tone to the color of a peacock feather.

The sample above demonstrates the different ways that paint companies interpret "electric blue" and the commonality of a strong, saturated hue. In an interview with Casa Sugar, production designer Jeremy Conway reported that Carrie's "new" blue bedroom from the Sex and the City movie was painted in a color very close to Benjamin Moore's Electric Blue. It's a cheerful, bright blue that looks great in bedrooms, bathrooms, and living rooms.

The color I think of as "electric blue" is much more vivid and saturated. These samples look like variations of "sky blue".
This is sky blue not electric blue.
Never, never, never get tired of blue. These hues are amazing!! But, I agree... these don't seem like electric blue, more sky blue.
This is sad. The only example that even comes close to "electric blue" is #3.
Love the chair in Pic #1!
My bedroom and its attached bathroom are very close to the second color...
I think of it as Ocean Blue - Don't recall what Benjamin Moore called it.
I just painted my entry in a color similar to the first color swatch:

It's called "Grand Bleu", or "Big Blue", with all the sea-related connotations intended. I definitely think of these blues as sky and/or sea blues, as others have mentioned; for me too, "electric blues" are brighter, more vivid.
I recently painted my bedroom electric blue (Rocky Mtn Sky Blue to be exact...) to make my maple furniture pop!
I let my last boyfriend pick any color he wanted for the kitchen of our place. He picked 'electric blue'. I was panicked about it but I must say, it looked great on the walls. Who knew?
In our previous place we had a double height hallway with a fabulous ash and glass staircase running up and across the back wall (we designed it ourselves and I really miss it). We painted the rest of the downstairs off-white but painted the whole back wall in a stunning blue - the colour of blue paint at primary school. It looked awesome and everyone loved it.
