The best way to destroy a glass of champagne is to put it in a stemless glass. It changes the temperature far too quickly. All the nuisances of smell and flavor disappear. If you use stemless glassware for anything other than a red (if even that) you might at as well drink out of a red solo cup. And champagne should never be in a coupe.
I'm with the above post regarding stemless glassware. They're pretty to look at it, but as a lover of champagne I think it defeats the purpose of using a glass.
