The Elica Glide is available in 30" and 36" widths. It's advertised as a high-performance hood, despite its small profile, and is constructed of tempered glass and steel. The curvy, telescopic visor actually slides out when ventilating and effortlessly tucks away for a discreet appearance. All it takes is a slight touch to control the 4-speed 450 CFM internal blower and 2 adjustable 20 watt halogen bulbs.
Other features include:
- 5-minute booster setting for a maximum ventilating power, then returning to previous blower setting
- Long lasting, dishwasher safe stainless steel mesh filter
- Ducted or recirculating installation
Unfortunately, this kind of futuristic, "to die for" kitchen gizmo doesn't come cheap. The Elica Glide hood sells for $1240 (for the 30" version) and $1340 (for the 36" version).
