Color Inspiration: The inspiration for this room was four words: soft,light,luminous and warm. I choose the soft blue color for the walls long before I was even pregnant. We had recently moved into our new home and were gradually repainting the entire house. This room was chosen to be our future baby's room, and painting it, I already had a good idea of the ambiance I wanted to create. When I received the long-awaited good news, I started working on the decor and decided on a forest theme with a modern twist. The treatment of the theme, and all of the accessories and details, were selected so they'd be in agreement with my original inspiration.

Tip for Using Color: When I decorate a room, I like to start with a neutral base - here light blue and white - and use accessories to create color accents. This is an especially useful tip when decorating a baby's room, since baby accessories tend to be very colorful. The decor can easily be updated as the child grows up, or when a new color becomes fashionable and we suddenly find ourselves surrounded! Another quick color tip: I used scrapbooking paper to add decorative panels to the bookcase.
