Inspired by a pair of 1940's lamps she found on eBay, Elizabeth built her bedroom around their sexy shape. Her fresh take on Hollywood Regency involved plenty of grey for its soothing quality but she tempered it with color and, of course, a couple of great deals.
Elizabeth, a designer by trade, loves color but didn't want to overdo it in her bedroom. So she painted the walls a medium grey and added some fun by paying special attention to the ceiling. Creating some architecture and adding color along with an amazing chandelier made the ceiling a focal point without overwhelming the room.
And of course she found some great deals on furniture:
"I love using vintage and refurbished pieces. The number one deal in this room are the Queen Anne chairs I found for 5 dollars on Craigslist. I completely overhauled them with new fabric and a fresh coat of silver lacquer. I also reclaimed a 1960's bamboo bench, upholstered it with grass cloth and lacquered it with a bright turquoise and put it at the foot of the bed."
Her bedroom is feminine and bright and a great example of how to use color in small doses for big impact.
