When we found out we were having a girl we were so excited to start her nursery. I knew I didn't want to have an all pink nursery per se, so I chose a color palette of Tiffany blue, watermelon pink, and some metallics here and there.
My husband wanted to do wainscoting, and I was on board, but we didn't want to spend our entire budget on it. So we looked for some DIY wainscoting ideas and it turned out amazing for $200! After we had the tiffany blue on the walls and the wainscoting complete it was time for me to get my "creative" on.
It started with the curtain fabric that I fell in love with, and I used the colors in that pattern for inspiration for all the little details in the room (mobile, rug, bedding, pillow, etc). I, of course, had to have a chandelier in our little girl's room, and I searched high and low for one and ended up choosing a $50 one from IKEA. It was just perfect.
I would say my favorite detail in her room is the wardrobe display/floating shelf. I got the inspiration from Pinterest but tweaked it a little, and I love how it turned out! In the end the room turned out to be exactly what I wanted, and it is definitely more sophisticated than any other "grown-up" room in my house… not sure if that's good thing or a bad thing!

Beautifully done Whitney! A lovely space for her!
I have the Monte Luca in charcoal with stone piping but now I'm really wishing I has gone with the stone colour with white piping like this one.
