Name: Eliana/"Ellie"(4)
Location: Hillsboro, OR
Color Inspiration: My daughter's personality was my main inspiration, so the room is very "her". She is girly, but very spunky and playful with a quirky side. This room used to be a guest room and was stark white, so when we first started planning to move her into it from the nursery I was thinking of doing a woodland theme with mostly greens and blues. But she kept saying she wanted pink! We ended up doing both pink and yellow. The rest of the room evolved through mostly craigslist and thrifting. I love vintage objects, but try to find a balance with things she and her friends like also. She has a penchant for unicorns and other imaginative creatures so we ended up with the fairy tale duvet (ebay score!) and lots of fanciful toy, but still manage to avoid the overtly princess look.
Tip for Using Color: I always test multiple shades before I find the perfect one. Most of my friends could attest to walking into any room of my house at one time or another and being asked to judge their favorite color in the paint-patchwork on the wall. Also, do your best to help it blend with your home as a whole and don't stress.
Colors Used: Benjamin Moore Moonlight (yellow) and Cotton Candy (pink). Also various shades of blue, green, white, orange, and dark pink.
Thanks for your colorful entry Loraena and good luck!

My six year old would absolutely love this room.
I think I'm in love with this room!
I absolutely LOVE every filled nook and cranny and every square inch of painted wallspace in this room!! Excellent work...!!!
You did an excellent job! Well done!
I love it when parents honor their daughters' girly qualities. Nice job!
so girly! where did you get the ballerina painting on her wall?
Really really wonderful. I bet it's pretty at night too.
Thanks for the nice comments! The ballerina painting is from the Winborg Sisters Design, but Target is carrying it right now (which makes it much cheaper!)
