Name: Eloise (2 months)
Location: Vancouver, BC
Division: International
Room Size: 10 Square Feet
Tip for Living Small with Kids: We use pretty baskets and boxes for storing everything from Eloise's clothing and accessories to extra cloth diapers, blankets and toys. Our petite Bloom Alma Urban Crib fits right in the Nook and sits on casters so we can roll it into the living room during the day. Since a change table wouldn't fit in the Nook, we do diaper changes on the bed and keep clean diapers on our dresser in a 'diaper depot' with a wipes warmer that sits on top. Vertical storage is essential to living small!
Biggest Design Challenge in this Room: We live in a 600 square foot, one bedroom apartment so designing a 'room' for our new baby was a challenge in itself. Our goal was to give our child their own space while keeping them close by, so we converted our 10 square foot bedroom closet in to what we lovingly renamed The Nook. To house our clothing we bought two inexpensive Ikea Asplund wardrobes and transformed the closet by removing the doors, painting, and wallpapering. With the addition of a crib and shelving our closet became a beautiful room for our baby girl.
Favorite Thing About This Room: The white and silver wallpaper we used to give the space some pop. Since we didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl, the wallpaper needed to be gender neutral and work with the decor of our bedroom as well. I also love our Alma crib for its functionality and style.
Thanks for your entry Jordan and good luck!

I love love love this one!
So sweet and so pretty.
This is so sweet! The wallpaper is perfect.
This is an absolute winner! One of my favorites by far!
I love the wallpaper and the sweet storage system. Such a lovely room.
It's very cute, but it wouldn't be long (baby is 2 months, could be pulling up by 5 months) before both that curtain and the pictures on the wall above the crib become hazards.
Favorite so far. So small... I wonder how you do it !
Love love. Absolutely adorable and proof that changing tables are completely unnecessary.
lovely!
winner !
Hands-down the best!
Yes Please!
Beautiful and clever!
Trying to get some reviews on the Alma Bloom. What do you think of it? How many months of use do you expect to get out of it?
Thank you everyone for your comments!
@Molly Margarita, we love our Alma crib! It's pretty, portable, well made and it fits just about anywhere. My daughter was born a month early and is just a tiny thing, so we think it should last us between 18 and 24 months. Bonus, the crib folds up for easy storage when Eloise outgrows it!
so sweet! I love it so much, makes me think, we have room for another!
This is just wonderful.
So elegant and beautiful, my favorite!
I like the wallpaper and those baskets.
Brilliant. This proves that you don't need a lot of square footage, or a lot of 'stuff,' to make a space absolutely stunning. This is simply beautiful. It's clear that every detail was paid attention to.
Where did you get that storage shelf/bookcase from? I've got a similar closet situation and I need something that narrow. Love this room!
