Living in DC, we often forget the amazing resources offered by the city's international community. Over 175 countries have embassies here. This Saturday, May 2nd is your chance to tour 30 of them for free! Open Embassies include Japan, the Bahamas, Ghana, Colombia, Korea, Australia, and Ukraine. Many of the Embassies are in converted mansions and the interiors showcase furniture, artwork, and design from their home countries. More info below the jump...

The open Embassies are mostly in the Dupont Circle and Van Ness neighborhoods. Cultural Tourism DC has online maps showing the open Embassies you can visit this Saturday: click here for Dupont and here for Van Ness.
Do you plan to attend?
Shown above the jump are the Embassies of India and Colombia. On this page is a photo of the Embassy of Finland.

Colombia not Columbia.
The Finnish Embassy is pretty amazing. I would encourage everyone to see it. Also, if it is open, the German--love the modern architecture.
thanks, JennF!
please, please, PLEASE....
it is NOT "the Ukraine", it is just Ukraine.
the first was how it was referred to when it was a province of the USSSR!
I am guessing the one above is actually Australia rather Finland - well considering the Australian flag and the Aboriginal art I would hope so!
um, yeah pretty sure that is Australia not Finland......
ColOOOOmbia...God...
