The warm weather is (finally) here to stay - to help celebrate outdoor spaces, I wanted to give a nod to the place where our love for outdoor living originated — the treehouse!

For me, the most inspiring treehouses are those of timeless composition and handcrafted character. Having three very hands-on brothers, I’ve collaborated on more than a few forts and treehouses in my day. Besides the simple achievement of having my own little space high above the world where nobody else was allowed, the process of constructing the little fantasy huts was always the most exciting to me. Naturally, my favorite part was adorning these spaces with whatever materials I could get my hands on, much like Kid Baltimore’s Joyce Hesselberth and her husband did for their kids with the adorable little red house they constructed out of repurposed materials and other unique finds (check out the patinated baby head mold that sits atop the grounding post!).

Whether building a space for your kids or creating a little escape for yourself, like Peter Bahouth's Treehouse for Grownups, I love seeing people embracing their inner child and welcoming the outdoors - a great mindset to be in as we enter into the summer months, if you ask me!
