Emerson's Light-Filled Nursery

My Room

Name: Emerson (newborn)
Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Knowing that we were having a girl, we wanted a room that was creative, fun and whimsical but not too "girly". The nursery is a fairly small room (11' x 13') in a renovated warehouse building, but the tall ceilings and large windows make the room feel much more spacious and provide a lot of natural light.

I found the mobile online which served as the inspiration for the color palette and overall geometric/modern theme. The furniture was purchased in the hopes that our daughter will be able to continue to use as she grows older. The dresser simply has a changing pad connected to the back of the dresser and this has worked wonderfully as a changing station. I like the flexibility of the bookshelf storage—it works well with fabric storage bins too.
