As our workers finish up final touches in the kitchen this week, we have started to move some furniture in. I know technically furniture is not part of a renovation but the right size furniture in the right nook can make the space so much more efficient.
After much furniture shopping and not much luck, I was connected with an architect who turned furniture maker. It was great because we were able to speak the same language, or rather use the same 3d software, and I was able to show him exactly what I needed. He brought over two pieces this week (more to come!) and they were beautiful. They fit into the spaces perfectly and the price is more than reasonable.
After much of the drama last week, the flooring is done and the handrail is in! The fireplace frame is also complete. It turned out a bit bigger and higher than what I had wanted, but with the fire code there's not much choice.
The crown molding and glass insert for the cabinets that I mentioned in previous posts are also done. Everything is a bit chaotic with the sawdust and plastic wraps everywhere but we are happy to be finally in the house!
Estimated time for project: 8 weeks
Time remaining: 1 week
