You know when a room just looks effortlessly cool? It's just casual enough, just enough things to look at, just enough symmetry and not too matchy matchy? And you just kind of want to live there? That's how I feel about almost everything that stylist Emily Henderson touches. And since her big win on Design Star last year she's been working on her own show, Secrets From a Stylist. We all got a taste of what her show would be like last year when she made over the co-creator of Glee's home. And now I'm looking forward to a whole season of her making over spaces and layering in her style.

Among Emily's design tips for designing your space:
• Create a Mood Board
• Stick with odd numbers of accessories, it's more interesting to the eye
• Save money by sewing your own pillows
• Balance masculine and feminine by choosing a feminine pattern in a masculine palette or vice versa
• Branches: the most bang for your buck (see them here)
