Name: Emily & Kaley
Location: Southern California

We are expecting our second daughter in May and wanted both girls to share a room. We have a separate playroom for the girls, so we wanted the nursery to have more calming and light colors. Our biggest challenge was trying to budget everything under $400.

We were able to get a free Craigslist dresser, affordable chair/toddler bed, and DIY a lot of the accessories and decor. The only existing furniture pieces we had were the Graco crib and changing dresser.

Source List:

  • Baby crib: Graco scored a great deal when Target had one of their big baby sales three years ago - $120 for crib and mattress.
  • Changing Dresser: DIY Craigslist find for only $10. I bought a whole gallon of white paint to refinish it and still have plenty of left over paint. Total cost $50 including paint and all supplies.
  • All other decorations: Please see link below for more details
