- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- My daughter loves having a place to hide and read her books, so when we built her desk we created a cozy book nook underneath. When she is in her book nook, she never hears the calls to dinner, piano practicing, or homework!
- What are your tips for creating a beautiful, healthy and organized bedroom?
- Obviously, we believe in having easy access to books! As my daughter grows she will be able to reach more of the shelves above her desk and they will be filled with useful rather than just decorative items.
- In modern homes, bedrooms have become more than just a place to sleep; they can be a retreat, a home office, a library, a relaxation zone. What are some ways you make the most of your bedroom?
- A large desk for art projects and homework, a nook for reading, and a soft puffy bed. That's everything an eight year old girl needs!

I would have loved to have a reading book nook as a girl!
Or even NOW - under my desk at work! LOL
so greeen and lovely. though i assume the cat just loves those desk curtains.
I love all the nooks and shelves. The room works and feels like a real child's space and not a designer space where a child is only allowed to sleep. My kids love to collect treasures. It's important for them to surround themselves with "their" special things and have places to put everything away. The under-desk nook is perfect. I may try that with my kiddos when we rearrange rooms. Thank you for the idea! My boys have the print shop drawers full of lego mini figures and tiny creations. Love seeing yours too.
Why can I only like this once? It's so fantastic! Emily's a lucky girl.
Love it
Love the color and access to books! Any girls' dream room!!!
We want the cat too! ;)
I want to revert to 8 years old and be your daughter just so I can have that room. What a dream. Ditto what was said above that this doesn't look like a designer room but a really cool room that was designed for a kid who loves it and uses it. The green, the shelves, the books, the nook. I love it all. Best thing I have seen on AT in a long, long time.
This is gorgeous - the bedroom I wish I'd had as a little girl! Well done on keeping it just the right side of too girly. It can grow and evolve with your daughter beautifully.
The colors are beautiful!
I am really shocked that you would leave all those books just lying around where an innocent child can get to them. Plus a private little space where she can gorge on books...don't you know how dangerous this is? 20 years from now when she is up half the night slaving away on the footnotes for her dissertation on the Victorian novel you will have only yourself to blame.
;) great room!!
Adore this too--and I often find children's rooms way too precious for my taste and skip them whenever I see them on AT or elsewhere. But that green drew me, as well as that nook--who wouldn't love such a nook.
This but in my house hiding from kids. Haaa
This is cute, but completely unrealistic for a child...
Cute room! And definitely NOT unrealistic for a child...exactly the type of space I dreamed of when I was a kid!!
This is super cute but all these under-furniture reading nooks I keep seeing in kid's rooms squick me out, cause you know, spiders. D:
